        Hess 1984 The Hess Fuel Tanker With Bank With this update of the 1977 Fuel Oil Tanker, Hess introduced the first-ever bank model to the fleet, adding a coin slot on the top of the tanker. Kids could access their money by turning the cap to open a door at the back. This was the first model with all logos and lettering printed onto the plastic, ending the twenty-year run of using decals to add the detail to the toys. And speaking of finales, this was the last Hess toy to use a single D battery.

        We recently purchased an estate of G scale model trains and included was a collection of Hess Trucks. While there is not a particular scale associated with this brand, they are a highly collectible item and if not purchasing to collect, some would actually fit well as scenery items on a model train or slot car layout.

        All HESS trucks we have listed on our site are “New Old Stock” meaning that they include all original packaging and literature, and the item shows no evidence of ever being run or used beyond storage. New Old Stock packaging will usually show signs of shelf storage, but the contents will be in excellent condition. All of our HESS truck boxes have been opened in order to inspect for any corroded battery compartments in both the main vehicles as well as any secondary or accessory vehicles which may be part of the HESS product.
