    The MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team unveiled the F1 W05, its 2014 challenger, at the Circuito de Jerez in southern Spain. Ahead of the first morning of official winter testing, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton took the wraps off the first all-new Silver Arrow to hit the track since 1954. Designed from the ground up as an integrated project between the Mercedes-Benz teams based at Brackley and Brixworth, this new car marks an historic milestone in a landmark year when Mercedes-Benz celebrates 120 years of Motorsport and the 80th anniversary of the Silver Arrows.

    Nico Erik Rosberg began his racing career in karting in 1996 at the age of 10; later in 2000 he and Lewis Hamilton were teammates and would once more team up for Mercedes in 2013. Rosberg won the 2005 GP2 Series for the ART team, having raced in Formula 3 Euro Series previously for his father Keke Rosberg's racing organisation Team Rosberg. Nico who would later drive for the Williams and Mercedes teams in Formula One. For the 2010 Formula One season, Rosberg joined the re-branded Mercedes team, formed by Mercedes's takeover of 2009 constructors' champions Brawn GP. Mercedes won the 2014 Formula One Constructors' Championship three races before the end of the Championship season.
